Freydoun Ain’t No Angel

Fereydoun Ave is a good example of the Iranian elite during the 1960s and 70s, but he also played a significant role in Iranian culture in his middle age and later years (after the Revolution). During difficult years when any talk of culture seemed like a joke, Ave managed to protect the elite taste from the onslaught of unrefined and mindless (popular) aesthetics.
